Wherever Kate Moss was when cool life skills were being handed out, it was clearly prime position as the world’s coolest supermodel has just added another project to what we’re sure is an already busy schedule. Kate’s just signed on the dotted line to be British Vogue’s new contributing editor. The mind-blowing nature of this news is just too much for us to comprehend. Kate Moss. Styling fashion shoots. For Vogue. The only thing that could top this is if she got back together with Johnny Depp and started popping out ridiculously hot babies.
British Vogue’s editor Alexandra Shulman has revealed that we can expect the Kate Moss touch to make an appearance in an upcoming spring issue. Shulman has said: “Her undoubtedly brilliant sense of style, depth of fashion knowledge and understanding of what makes a wonderful image will be exciting to see on the pages of British Vogue.”

Can you think of a more beautiful and perfect pairing than Gwen Stefani and OPI? Well maybe Nutella and a variety of baked goods, but still, Gwen for OPI is about as awesome as it can get. Just think of all the colour possibilities! Gwen will be releasing her own range comprising of 7 different polishes. And the range as expected is as edgy as Gwen. There will be a red inspired by Gwen’s signature red lip, two semi-matte polishes which the manicure-lazy of us all will love as it requires no topcoat, two glossy crème shades, a glittery number and the one which will be especially mind blowing for the nail polish-obsessed is called “Push and Shove” which comes with a special base coat that will give your nails a mirrored effect. That’s right, mirrored nails! The collection drops in 2014, but we are most definitely already in love.

In case you’ve been absent from the fashion land, Marc Jacobs is leaving his post at luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton. The designer received a standing ovation at his final Louis Vuitton ready-to-wear show at Paris Fashion Week. And let’s face it, the man’s certainly earned it.
From the moment Jacobs took the helm in 1997 and introduced LV’s first ready-to-wear collection he’s had moment after moment of fashion genius and has managed to turn the iconic French brand from luggage maker to a fashion house to be reckoned with.
In his 16 years at the helm of Vuitton, Jacobs was not one to shy away from innovation. How could anyone forget the collaboration with graffiti artist Steven Sprouse? And what about the Takashi Murakami collection that resulted in too-cute bags adorned with cherries, flowers and a colourful LV monogram? He enlisted pals like Sophia Coppola and Kanye West to design for the brand and turned his fashion shows into elaborate theatrical productions incorporating everything from escalators to a train.
Jacobs is said to be stepping down to concentrate on his own eponymous label so we can only expect bigger things to come from the Marc Jacobs brand. A replacement has not yet been announced but it’s said that former Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquiere is in talks with Louis Vuitton to take over. Thanks Marc Jacobs, we’ve enjoyed every minute.

The Japanese mecca for all things basics is finally setting up shop in Australia. The first Aussie store will open early next year in Melbourne’s Emporium shopping centre and will be spread over four floors and stock men’s, women’s, children’s and baby clothes. Uniqlo Australia chief executive Shoichi Miyasaka says, “For the next four or five years we expect to see our business grow in Australia.” It seems the plan is for countrywide domination with several stores planned for Sydney and Melbourne with other capital cities Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth likely to be added later. We had to wait a long time but the world has finally cottoned on to the fact we Aussies love a mega chain store. Keep ‘em coming!

It’s one of the most highly anticipate collaborations in for like ever and the countdown is now officially on for Isabel Marant for H&M. The collection is dropping November 14 in 250 H&M stores worldwide and we for one are still in mourning our H&M isn’t coming till next year! Considering the fashion frenzy that Marant causes whenever she launches a new collection, we can only imagine that offering her design genius at a drastically reduced price will probably incite mayhem. Probably not as much as this little offering, but people will
lose their shit be extremely exciteable all the same. The collection (previewed above by Harper’s Bazaar) will include tees, jackets, dresses and accessories. And don’t expect the quality to drop either. Marant says, “It was clear from the beginning that we didn’t want to just do a cheap version of Isabel Marant, so we worked around keeping a really high level of quality in the fabrics and the manufacturing, doing things by hand.” Bring. It. On.
