Bear with us while we try and take all this in. Not only do the new images from the Kate Bosworth-inspired festival collection for Topshop make us want to frolick around a field somewhere, the clothes are pretty awesome too. It’s just quintessential K.Bos California cool. And really, who doesn’t want to look the above when heading out to a music festival? Sure beats butt cheeks hanging out of tiny denim shorts don’t you think? Check out the campaign video shot by Kate’s fiancee Michael Polish, who in true Hollywood power couple style, also shot the above pictures.

FASHION FOCUS: Elin Kling

01

Before there were fashion bloggers there was Elin Kling. The Swedish blogger and former fashion editor started her blog Style by Kling in 2007 because her friend “forced her to”. We think she owes that friend a massive drink because within two days of launching she was Sweden’s largest blog. Ever since then she’s gone on to co-found Fashion Networks International, is the owner of one of the world’s leading online fashion platforms NOWMANIFEST (which houses blogs by Anna Dello Russo and Derek Blasberg) and she’s also the fashion director of her own magazine, STYLEBY. Kling’s a favourite with big name fashion brands such as H&M and Guess both of which she collaborated with to launch her own capsule collections. She’s also appeared in campaigns for Louis Vuitton and NET-A-PORTER.

Kling’s style is laidback yet polished. Her go-to pieces are black blazers and leather jackets, jeans and silk blouses all worked back with structured heels or boots. She favours black and neutrals, but will on occasion add a pop of colour to add interest to an outfit. It’s a fashion equation that works, and clearly there’s nowhere else but up for one of the world’s biggest style bloggers.

NEWS FLASH: Terry Richardson hand models for Valentino (yes, you read that correctly)

terry-val-embed_2561531a

He’s the bespectacled, flannelette shirt-wearing photographer who has shot some of the world’s most attractive people, and now Terry Richardson is getting in front of the lens and trying his hand at being erm, a hand model. Valentino enlisted Richardson to photograph its latest campaign of Rockstud Rouge and Rockstud Noir heels and bags and instead of the usual long-limbed model beauty route, he decided to take some hand selfies instead! What do you think of Terry’s turn at hand modelling?

‣ Dior is releasing their second video campaign and judging from the images released, it’s going to be a fashion fantasy come true. The short film titled Secret Garden 2 – Versailles is set in an enchanted forest and was filmed by fashion photography’s dynamic duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The film is being released next month.

‣ Who says e-vites have to be tacky? Paperless Post, a US e-vite company has teamed up with Oscar de la Renta to create a line of stationery inspired by prints from the designer’s recent spring ready-to-wear, resort, pre-autumn and bridal line. They’ve even offered the option of being able to buy the range in paper format for those who want to take the old-fashioned snail mail option for invitations.

‣ Speaking of Dior, the fashion house’s disgraced former creative director John Galliano is giving his first media interview since his drunken anti-semitic outburst in a Paris bar two years ago. The designer has largely been in exile since the incident and after losing his post at Dior, his only role has been as a designer in residence at Oscar de la Renta. Galliano was also due to start a teaching post at Parsons The New School for Design but the post was rescinded by the prestigious fashion school last week. The designer will be revealing all in the July issue of Vanity Fair as he tries to mount a fashion comeback. Only time will tell if the fashion world is ready to forgive and forget.
